What is a prolapsed uterus?
The uterus (womb) is a muscular structure that is clasped in
place by pelvic muscles and ligaments. If these muscles or ligaments stretch or
become feeble, they are no longer able to support the uterus, thus triggering
prolapse. Uterus prolapse befalls when the uterus droops or slides from its
normal position and into the vagina (birth canal). Uterus prolapse can be
incomplete or complete. An incomplete prolapse befalls when the uterus is only partially
drooping into the vagina. A complete prolapse defines a situation in which the
uterus tumbles so far down that some tissue rests outside the vagina.
Symptoms of uterus prolapse
Females who have a minor uterus prolapse may not have any
symptoms. Moderate to severe prolapse may lead to symptoms such as:
If you do develop uterus prolapse that causes these symptoms,
it is highly imperative to see your doctor and get treatment at once. Without appropriate
attention, the condition can cause weakening in bowel, bladder and sexual
function. These days, instead of going in for surgeries, most women prefer to opt
for non-surgical treatment of uterus prolapse in the form of Ayurvedic
medicines. This treatment is known to be 100% safe and effective.
